Beach Glass
I find pieces of glass that have been tumbled by waves, worn
smooth and clouded by sand and time. These pieces of beach glass come from
the shores of the Potomac River near Fredericksburg, VA. They include many
beer bottles, coke bottles, liquor bottles, and when I'm lucky, cobalt blue bottles--these
can be from old Milk of Magnesia, poison, or soda water bottles. Because it takes much longer for the glass to wear
smooth in the river than the ocean, these treasures are at least 30 years old.
Here are a few necklaces
I've made with beach glass:

Beach Yogi
This fabulous blue necklace has Czech glass beads with silver, but the best part is the sterling OM charm atop the cobalt colored beach glass, wrapped in silver wire. I found the glass on the shores of the Potomac River, then wrapped it in wire. From books I've read, it looks like it's the bottom of an old bromo-seltzer bottle. |

Cobalt Beach Glass
More cobalt! It's somewhat hard to find, especially in such lovely condition, all smooth and soft, tumbled naturally on the Potomac River's shores. This lovely blue piece is wrapped in sterling wire and hangs from a strand of freshwater pearls.
